10th Annual General Meeting

10th Annual General Meeting of the Council was held on 19th June 2009 at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Colombo. Dr. Stefan Weckbach, Charge d’Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany was the Chief Guest.

Presentations to the membership and others

“Global Financial Crisis and It’s impact on Sri Lanka”- Mr. Sujeeva Mudalige, partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Vice President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

“Effect of Global Financial Crisis in Sri Lanka”- Dr. Saman Kelegama, Executive Director of the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS)

Trade Enquiries

Trade enquiries received from various sources requesting for contacts of buyers, sellers, agents and/or manufacturers of a wide range of products were circulated among members.

Trade Fairs –Exhibitions in Germany

Details of trade fairs organised in Germany are circulated to members. These trade fairs, which are considered important trade promotion tools, assisted members in promoting trade between Sri Lanka and Germany and enhanced their business activities.

Liaison with the German Embassy

The Council maintains a close rapport with the German Embassy. Mrs. Regina Von Ahn, Second Secretary, participates at Committee meetings and contributes a great deal towards the development and progress of the Council and its members.
